The Hambletonian – Harness Racing’s Greatest Day.

The 2014 Hambletonian is coming up this weekend at the Meadowlands Racetrack, it truly is the most prestigious race in Harness Racing. It’s hard to believe that twenty years has past since I was named the 1994 Cadillac Hambletonian artist of the year.  Creating the first painting in 1994 was a great experience for me as an up and coming artist, the painting was used to create 275 limited editions lithographs, 2500 posters and 30,000 program covers.  The original was unveiled upstairs in the Pegasus and all my family and friends were treated to some fine dining, compliments of the Meadowlands.  Every year a new artist was selected to commemorate this historic event which has made for some great company and a fantastic collection of art.  I was thrilled to hear that the following year the Hambletonian hired artist Leroy Neiman to be the commemorative artist for 1995 then me back in 1996.
